Statistics, Love, and Money

Welcome to April, everyone! That means it's time for our monthly post about website statistics!

We kept our stellar growth pace in March, achieving on some days more visitors than we had in all of December and January. Thanks for all the visits, and I hope you all keep visiting our little corner of the web as we continue our veg oil powered journey.















I would like to thank our corporate sponsor: iGo power adapters.

I'd like to also thank Fossil Fuels Anonymous for their generous donation. This June they will be attempting another trip like ours. I don't know much about their trip aside from the fact that it will be starting from Florida, and that they will be in a VegOil powered suburban.

Statistics

I get a kick out of seeing our audience increase.

In February, our audience continued to increase steadily, but our adsense impressions stayed mostly flat - probably due to the fact that I removed Google ads from several key pages - like the homepage.

Also, our videos continued to draw attention, Promo has been viewed 439 times since Jan 7, and The Conversation has been viewed 127 times since Feb 10.

On Monday afternoon, we'll be making a presentation to the 2nd grade class of the Abraham Lincoln School, and we may get onto the evening news! Too bad we've already sold the TV and VCR, and therefore won't be recording it... If we can get a copy of that newscast, we'll try to post it.

The trip launches on March 26th, and don't forget to keep the ideas for car names coming in! We really want a good name by then!

Lies, damn lies, and statistics

The most important thing I ever learned was to never believe any graph with only a few data points.

...In completely unrelated news, here are the statistics for our humble website and blog for December and January, as measured by Google's adsense (adsense impressions) and the vegetableoilroadtrip.com webserver (visits and hits). So, by looking at this painstakingly assembled graph, you can see that we're off to a great start.


















Also, our video, posted to youTube, has been viewed 214 times since January 7.

Anyhow, thanks for tuning in - and please keep watching - we have several pending announcements for early February that will make our whole trip more interesting.
